Organic Foods vs. Conventional Foods
First let me say that I am not a Medical Practitioner or Nutritionist. Seek the advice of your Doctor or Medical Professional before you change your diet or eating habits.
Here is my story. This past year I gained over 13 lbs. Because of this I decided it was time to take a good hard look into my eating habits and quality of food I ate. Because of my hectic work schedule, my breakfast, lunch and dinner evolved around Fast Foods and no exercise.
I evaluated the quality of foods I ate by researching the calorie and content of the meals. What I discovered is that the quality of the food I ate was unhealthy and probably the main reason for my weight gain. That and the fact that I need to exercise.
It was time for me to get serious about eating well balanced and nutritious meals. So I took the next step.
Next, I did some research on the internet and compared Organic foods vs. Conventional foods (meat, fruits, vegetables, frozen entrees, fresh vs. frozen meals, fresh organic herbs and spices, etc.).
Why Organic? I've heard a lot about the nutritional health benefits of Organic foods. This peaked my interest so I did some research on the internet. I soon found out that, Organically-produced foods are higher in antioxident and other nutrients then other counterparts, there are no persistent pesticides or synthetic fertilizers and no synthetic growth and breeding hormones. Considering Organic? Do your own research, then decide if Organically-produced food is right for you. The choice is yours.

On a side note. Two weeks ago I started cooking and eating only organic meals and snacks. I found that Organic foods taste really great and are very colorful (even after it's cooked!). I have more energy and don't get bloated after my meals, I eat less at each meal and stay full for longer periods of time. This in itself is good enough reason for me to eat Organic foods. In case you are wondering, I've lost 4 lbs. in the past two weeks.
I found some really great Organic Recipes on the internet. As I come across really good recipes or come up with my own recipes, I'll post them here!
